2019 Lexus RX Hybrid: Fuel Efficiency in Style

There’s no denying that Lexus models are some of the best-looking vehicles on the road today. Their front spindle grille design is polarizing, but makes their cars instantly recognizable on the road. And the new 2019 Lexus RX Hybrid design is no exception.

From the outside, the 2019 Lexus RX 450h looks identical to the all-gas versions of the same model. Chiseled lines give the Lexus RX some serious attitude and character, as do the angular headlights and taillights. Inside, that modern, futuristic flare continues with a luxuriously appointed cockpit that’s designed to focus on the driver.

You’ll find hand-stitched leather as well as a heated wood steering wheel, along with heated rear seats, and choices like walnut, shimamoku, laser-etched wood or F SPORT design for interior finishing touches. There’s also an available full-colour HUD (head-up display), as well as a full-colour 4.2” TFT multi-information screen in the gauge cluster. A 12.3” Electro Multi Vision (EMV) Display is also standard in the 2019 Lexus RX 450h.

Now, the most impressive feature on the 2018 Lexus RX 450h is, of course, its hybrid drive system. The Lexus Hybrid Drive system is paired with a 3.5L V6 that produces a total of 308 horsepower and 247 lb-ft of torque, and is paired with a CVT. There is an EV mode that can be activated when the battery is sufficiently charged, and/or the RX 450h is travelling at low enough speeds or cruising on the highway.

All-wheel drive is standard.

The 2018 Lexus RX 450h boasts fuel numbers to rival some of the most efficient sedans currently on the road, despite the added interior space, higher ride height and AWD: with a combined fuel rating of just 7.5L/100km.
