The next-generation Lexus LS 500h flagship hybrid sedan will be unveiled at Geneva Auto Show in a few weeks, two months after the redesigned 2018 Lexus LS was launched at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

Featuring Lexus’ exclusive Multi Stage Hybrid System, the 2018 Lexus LS 500h will be most luxurious and advanced hybrid vehicle to ever be offered on the market. The high-performance hybrid system is designed to improve efficiency and ensure impressive fuel economy numbers, while also being powerful and exhilarating.

2018 Lexus LS 500h will be first Lexus hybrid vehicle to get new Multi Stage Hybrid System

The new Multi Stage Hybrid System which was first seen on the flagship Lexus LC 500h is designed to improve throttle responsiveness and allow higher speeds while running on electric power only. The 2018 Lexus LS 500h will be able to reach up to 140 km/h using only its electric motor.

The system uses a 3.5-liter V6 engine combined with 2 electric motors which are paired to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Power output hasn’t been confirmed for the 2018 Lexus LS 500h, but in the LC 500h the hybrid powertrain produces 471 horsepower and 398 lb.-ft. of torque.

Unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show last January, the new 2018 Lexus LS will also offer a 3.5-liter, twin turbo V6 that develops 415 horsepower and 442 lb.-ft. of torque. That’s enough to get to 100 km/h in less than 5.0 seconds.

The 2018 Lexus LS 500h should do even better than that, given its extra power and engine setup.

Plenty of high-end features in the new 2018 Lexus LS

As one would expect with a premium full-size sedan, both the Lexus LS and LS500h feature the most advanced technologies available on the market in terms of comfort, safety, connectivity, and driving performance.

28-way power front seats with massage, heating and cooling functions are offered, as is a luxury package for the rear seats that even includes a Shiatsu massage built-in to the reclining seats which can tilt up to 48 degrees.

These are just some of the features you can expect in the all-new 2018 Lexus LS which goes on sale later this year. Pricing has not yet been announced. The 2018 Lexus LS 500h will be unveiled to the world on March 7th.
